Hello everyone,
Wow! Have I been absent a while!! My how time flies when summer and work get in the way, no time to play!!
To anyone out there who reads Peanut's blog, he is doing very well! The medicine that his new Dr. gave him seemed to shrink his abscess a bit so we have plans to keep him on that as much as possible in order to avoid any surgeries. We are planning to schedule a nail and tooth trim as well as a little check up on his chin very soon.
Peanut has discovered my boyfriends office lately. I think he enjoys coming down the steps, number one. Sitting and playing among boxes and other new "toys", and three, sitting in front of a fan that blows the AC into the office. Many mornings I have found him downstairs after putting him to sleep in his room the night before. He is going to do what he wants when he wants to!!
Peanut also went on his first outing to Pet Smart to grab some new food. He was a great sport when in came to putting on his harness and leash. He even enjoyed the ride over with no carrier!!!

Also, my wonderful boyfriend was doodling an idea I had for my tattoo that I am planning to get somewhere around my 30th (eeeek) birthday. He e-mailed it to me loooooong ago and I was thinking about it, searched for it, and it was no where to be found!!!!
FINALLY, he found it lost somewhere in cyberspace...and I am so excited because it is definitely going in the direction I want. I think a few more Peanut features on the bunny before I am branded with his mug forever.
Here is the concept drawing!!
Ain't he a cutie pie!??

Update - Fundraiser for Peanut!!!
Update: We have a wonderful organization here near Ann Arbor called the Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary that rescues rabbits from ALL over. Visit them here to see all of the wonderful things they are doing for these furry love bugs.. there is also a pig and some other animals on their land as well!!
Thanks to their recommendations page that lists rabbit friendly veterinaries, I decided to go with a place called Animal Kingdom. Peanut did a test run there when he got his nails clipped and even that is scary for a pet owner to leave their baby in the hands of strangers! He came out alive and calm and they have two rabbit specialists on site so I feel this is a good choice.
I finally called to talk to them and get him in for an exam. I feel comforted after speaking with the woman who took my appointment. She was patient, understanding as I rattled off about my anxiety of new doctors, and took time to speak with a doctor while I was on the phone. We will see how Peanut does at the exam. I am curious to hear what she has to say since she feels that surgery is the last option since an abscess usually grows right back anyways. Maybe she is an alternatives Dr. and Peanut and I get to try some cool, new holistic treatments???
I am going to be working on some new Peanut themed artwork to put up for sale to raise more for his surgery. This vet is a bit more on the expensive side than what I am used to but if he is in good hands, it is totally worth it!!
Thanks again to everyone for helping the fur ball out. Keep a lookout for some new items featuring my little guy!!!

Donations for Peanut!
Thank you so much to all of you kind folks who have either purchased sticker packs on my Etsy or offered to donate to this cause. I am so thankful that so many people want to help my little fuzz baby!!
To those who have asked to simply donate, I have set up a donation button through my Pay Pal. It shows the title of the fundraiser so that if you do donate an amount, you know it is going to the right place. I am asking that your shipping address be included either in a message or through your Pay Pal because everyone who donates WILL get a special "gift" from Peanut sent to them through snail mail.
If you have any questions or find the button is not working for any reason, please contact me at fartsyarts@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance! You have no idea how much this will help the 'nut!
I would also like to send a shout out to Amanda Levitt for writing about Peanut on her blog Fat Waitress.
You rock!!!!

The Easter bunny is coming!
Tomorrow is the holiday where people are excited for chicks, baby ducks, bunnies and all things SPRING!!!
While most people find all of the above absolutely adorable and irresistible, they are not gifts that can be given away when the cute wears off.
As a bunny owner, I know the commitment it takes to keep a bunny safe, healthy, and happy. Most people don't realize the life span of a healthy bunny is similar to a cat or dog! They can live to be 7-12 + years!!! I had two that lived for 7 years and have known people to have much older rabbits.
Rabbits are wonderful pets full of personality but they do not belong in small cages for the span of their life. They need to and greatly enjoy running and playing, exploring, jumping, and all the fun things MOST animals/pets like to do. Most rabbits do not like being carried around and babied which is what we and almost all little kids want to do. I have seen injured and paralyzed rabbits that was the result of poor picking up and carrying. It is very important to be knowledgeable about rabbits.
Rabbit sanctuaries, humane societies, and pounds see a rise in bunnies and rabbits only a short few months after this holiday.. Please consider other options for children! Some places offer adoptions and sponsorships of rabbits that they keep at their location. This is a much better option for those who want to have a rabbit of their own.
Please spread the word!!! Let's keep these crazy little cute creatures safe, happy, and healthy!!
They will thank you too!
